NEW SUSTAINABLE FURNITURE BRAND – VÊNOOR LIVING

Buying new furniture is probably one of the most fun but also taxing things you have to do when you move into a new home. It’s exciting because you finally get to create a home that represents you and your family, but it’s also stressful because you want to make sure that you pick furniture that you’ll love for many years. Sometimes it can be hard to choose a specific decorating style which is why I love minimalist Scandi furniture that doesn’t date. In fact I say, if in doubt go minimalist and accessorise your home as your taste evolves.

I got recently introduced to a brand new furniture and lifestyle store, Vênoor Living, and I literally jumped at the opportunity to work with them. Why? Because they firmly believe that beautiful furniture can be created from sustainable, social responsible origins. But not only is the furniture designed to perfection, it’s affordable too. Yes, that’s right. Sustainable furniture can be affordable and accessible. I got to admit, mass production and consumerism gets to me sometimes. It’s a big part of the interiors world but I truly hope that brands like Vênoor Living are the future. Their process involves replanting of materials sourced and providing good, honest and fair work for those involved. If you want to hear more about their commitment to sustainability, you can read about it here.

Vênoor Living asked me to feature some of my favourite products on the blog and I happily accepted the challenge. Here are my top picks from their new collections. They are all pieces that I would love to have in my own home and hopefully you’ll like them as much as I do.

1. ANDORA DINING TABLE (£529)

A proper dining room table is an absolute must, whether you live in a small apartment or a detached house in the country. We use ours so much that I couldn’t imagine living without one. It’s used for meals, entertaining, as a desk and my kids even use it for crafts. Wood is always an excellent choice because it’s durable and easy to keep clean. I personally love a solid wood table with a marble top, which is why the Andora table stood out for me. I love the contrast of natural mango wood and marble stone which makes this table a real statement piece in the dining room. You can find a matching console and a coffee table in the Andora range too if you’re going for a consistent look. It’s funny, I would never go for a marble worktop in the kitchen but I would absolutely love a marble dining room table.

2. AYKA (£299) vs. TOFFI CHAIR (£269)

Now I’m not exactly sure what’s gotten into me but I am loving walnut finish furniture at the moment. The great thing with walnut is that it works well with both contemporary and traditional decorating styles which makes it a very popular choice in homes. I love the mid-century inspired Ayka dining chair that comes with a luxurious upholstered seat. It can be tricky to find both stylish and comfortable chairs for the dining room but that’s why upholstered chairs were invented in the first place. Trust me your guests and your bottom will thank you – and they look great too!

Now I had a bit of dilemma choosing between two chairs and I couldn’t make up my mind.. So I decided to write about both. The Toffi chair is definitely a keeper. I adore the simple design and ash wood is always a stylish choice. This is such a classic Scandi design, it actually reminded me of my grandmothers old chair bringing back so many lovely memories. I think that’s why I love Scandi furniture so much. They are build to last and the designs are absolutely timeless.

3. ARABESQUE PATTERNED RUG (£275)

I’m a real rug lover. I’m always looking for an excuse to buy a new one. I do prefer patterned rugs at the moment. There are so many gorgeous colours and patterns to choose from which makes the decision making process so much harder. The Arabesque patterned rug was one of my favourites because the pattern is so simple and elegant. I also love that it’s 100% natural wool. If you have a small room, pick a rug with a large geometric pattern. Trust me, it will immediately make the room appear bigger. Just be careful not to add too many patterned accessories at once. Otherwise your room can end up looking a bit too busy, unless your going for that eclectic look of course.

4. AYKA CABINET (£439)

I love a good size storage unit, especially in the dining room. The Ayka cabinet was love at first sight. I’m obsessed with everything monochrome so obviously it was always going to appeal to me, but I’m also loving the contrast here. Black against ash wood looks striking. And what about the gold metal legs? This is ‘the’ cabinet and it deserves to get some press. But what’s even cooler is that the Ayka Cabinet is a multi functioning storage unit, including a hidden desk, drawers and a cabinet. Handy, right? I love the sophisticated and chic design which makes it ideal for the dining room or a home office. I just want to order one now. Of course that would mean I’d have to get rid of my old cabinet or buy a bigger house, so I might just wait a little longer.

5. YANA SOFA (£729)

A good comfortable sofa is one of the most important items in the living room which is why most of us spend a big part of our decorating budget on it. Mid-century style sofas are my favourites at the moment. The Yana 2-seater sofa looks so comfy but I also love the structured appearance and the chrome metal legs. If you’re not sure about the colour, just order a free fabric sample. Vênoor Living offer this service free of charge and it’s really easy to request one online.

Sustainable furniture can cost a small fortune but it doesn’t have to. Vênoor Living offers beautiful and affordable furniture that you will love for many years. Whether it’s Scandi, mid century or industrial style furniture you’re after, they have it all. I’m really impressed with their designs and, more importantly, with their vision and how each piece of furniture has a story. Writing this post has made me rethink my own buying habits too which is definitely a good thing.
