Looking for luxury birthday cake ideas? For my birthday, my husband surprised me with a beautiful Chanel-inspired birthday cake that became the centrepiece of a relaxed garden celebration. I had absolutely zero input with this, which is why I was shocked that he got it so right. He ordered the most gorgeous Chanel cake with the classic Chanel Quilted bag on top. It wasn’t too girlie or tacky, it was just right. I knew he was getting me a cake, but I was expecting something quite a bit smaller (we were having a small get-together with friends on my birthday). We of course had to have some pink champagne and canapés (blinis!) to start with, followed by a relaxed barbecue in the garden. It was absolutely perfect!
The cake was from an online cake shop called Caker street London. I paired it with my favourite Iittala Kastehelmi cakestand. I used a white sandwich tray to serve the blinis and served champagne from these Dartington Champagne Saucers (*gifted). The gorgeous bubble vase is from Svenskt Tenn. It was such a perfect way to turn another year older. In case you’re wondering, the filling was Victoria-style sponge covered on the outside with sugar paste icing. It definitely tasted as good as it looked!
