My husband surprised me with the most gorgeous birthday cake few weeks ago. I had absolutely zero input in this which is why I was shocked that he got it so right. He ordered the most gorgeous Chanel cake with the classic Chanel Quilted bag on the top. It wasn’t too girlie or tacky, it was just right. I knew he was getting me a cake, but I was expecting something quite a bit smaller (we were having a small get-together with friends on my birthday). We of course had to have some pink champagne and canapé (blinis!) to start with followed by a relaxed barbeque in the garden. It was absolutely perfect!
The cake was from an online cake ordering and delivering site called Caker street London. I paired it with my favourite Iittala Kastehelmi cake stand. I used this Newbridge sandwhich tray to serve the blinis and served champagne from these Dartington Champagne Saucers (*gifted). The bubble vase is from Svenskt Tenn.
It was such a perfect way to turn another year older. In case you’re wondering, the filling was Victoria style sponge covered on the outside with sugar paste icing. It definitely tasted as good as it looked!
