*In collaboration with Abstract House.
I’ve wanted to add a large photographic print to my wall art collection for some time now. I’ve got loads of abstract art already. Mainly geometric and figurative, which I love, but I felt like I needed to mix different types of art (if that makes sense). I like a nice flow (consistency) when it comes to decorating, but that doesn’t necessarily mean sticking to only one type of art. Photography on its own is a form of art and photo art has turned into quite the trend in interior design in the recent years. So, I really wanted to find and incorporate a photo art piece to our home art collection.
Luckily Abstract House came to the rescue and offered to gift me my favourite print from their art collection. Abstract House is a small independent design studio, offering exclusive original art and prints online. All the art prints are printed and hand packed here in London. They have a huge selection of contemporary art and the website is super user friendly. I love that they have different categories to help you narrow down your search. You can buy gallery wall sets too, if you need more help with choosing the right artwork. All the prints are made to order, which means they only produce the artwork once a customer makes an order (reducing the amount of materials and storage used, therefore helping reduce gas house emissions). I do love a company that takes sustainability seriously. Abstract House have also made sure that their cardboard boxes and paper tape is 100% recyclable. The wood used in the frames is naturally FSC certified.
I knew straight away that the ‘Secret Garden’ art print from their photography collection was ‘the one’. It’s so summery and thought provoking. It’s one of those prints that you just have to take another look to see what it’s all about. It reminds me of old English houses and their leafy gardens. It can be interpreted in so many ways. I love art that makes you think about the story behind the picture.
All the artwork and frames are hand made in their London studio to make sure you enjoy the highest quality craftmanship. The artwork comes ready to hang thanks to the cord at the back. The quality of the frame and the print really impressed me. The prints are unique and good value for something that isn’t mass produced. I added a white frame (50 x 70 cm) and a mount to go with my ‘Secret Garden’ print. I wanted to keep the frame simple to complement the unique fine art print (I think it works particularly well with our white walls too).
I would love to add their Tropical Island art print to our home art collection as well.
What is your favourite type of art and why?
