INTERIOR INSPIRATION FROM LINTHWAITE HOUSE HOTEL

With summer holidays only few months away, I thought it’s worth taking another look at our staycation last year at Linthwaite House. We stayed two nights in one of their luxurious Lake Suites which was ideal as we were travelling with children (check out our Lake Suites room tour HERE). The hotel interior and the bar area definitely need a mention too. Interior Designer Beverley Boswell did an amazing job transforming the hotel into a tranquil oasis of calm and luxury. In case you didn’t know, Linthwaite House is an Edwardian country hotel run by the renowned Leeu Collection group. Situated on a hilltop overlooking Windermere in the Lake District, it’s the perfect getaway for a romantic mini break or a luxurious family holiday in the heart of Lake District.

I wasn’t planning to feature the hotel on the blog but it was so pretty that I ended taking a few photos during our stay. The hotel lobby blew me away as soon as we arrived. The earthy colours were so calming and relaxing. The hotel oozes luxury in a very laid back atmosphere. I’d describe the interior design style as ‘eclectic luxe’. The stunning brass/copper accents and unique artwork (featuring scenic Lake District) were out of this world. Just like the chandelier in the lobby which looks understatedly glamorous with an industrial flair.

The hotel bar was pretty special too. Thanks to the gold shelving it felt quite glamorous but modern at the same time.  We didn’t actually sit at the bar (the arm chairs were way too comfortable for that). But I can tell you that if you order the Exton Park 75 cocktail (gin and champagne) you won’t be disappointed. I liked it so much that I ended up up ordering a bottle of Lakes Rhubarb Gin when we got home.

The newly built conservatory is definitely the most spectacular room/area in the hotel. It offer spectacular views of Lake Windermere, although don’t forget to make a booking if you do wish to sit outside. We sat out on the terrace one of the nights and it was truly special. But I also liked the conservatory part which feels a bit more formal. The fabulous interior designs details definitely made it worthwhile.  I’m not usually a fan of conservatories but this may have just converted me. All the colours were quite neutral so that they wouldn’t distract you from the view. Lots of patterns and unique artwork certainly made up for the lack of colours. I was also a huge fan of all the metallic accents, especially the custom lighting.

How gorgeous is this area rug? I’d love to have something like this in my home.

I hope I gave you some ideas and if you do plan to visit Lake District at any point, don’t forget to stop over at Linthwaite House. Even if it’s for a meal at their signature restaurant Henrock, owned by michelin-starred chef Simon Rogan. I don’t often rave about hotels (I’m super picky), but when I find something I love I just can’t stop going on about it. In fact, I loved Lake District so much that I am already planning my second trip back there this summer. Although I’d like to think that international travel will resume soon, I’m open to having another staycation here in the UK (you know, just in case). I think it’s good to have a back-up plan in case it all doesn’t quite work out.
