DOMKAPA’S NEW 2024 COLLECTION IS HERE!

* In partnership with Domkapa.

A new year means, a new collection and Domkapa’s 2024 collection has been highly anticipated. Since interviewing their talented design team last year, I knew something special was coming. After months of preparations, the Portuguese upholstery brand launched its 2024 collection at the prestigious Maison & Objet in Paris last month. I didn’t think they could top their previous collections (there were so many iconic designs!) but they have done it again. The new collection is full of new innovative creations, materials and customisable pieces to suit even the most demanding interior design projects.

Let’s take a closer look at some of my favourites..

MATTHEW SOFA

Who doesn’t love a sumptuous, comfy sofa? Domkapa is a pioneer of comfortable furniture design and the Matthew sofa is no exception. It may look simple and minimalist but I can guarantee that comfort has not been sacrificed. This sofa is so much more than just a modular sofa. Thanks to a secret mechanism you can bend the armrests and backrest at the perfect angle for you. Pretty cool, right? Naturally, it is also available in different sizes and materials to suit all kinds of interior schemes. The great thing about drop-arm sofas is that they can be used as a chaise longue giving you a chance to snooze when you want to fully relax. Let’s just hope this type of innovative design will dominate furniture trends in the coming years.

HUBERT ARMCHAIR

Statement retro armchairs are back! I love an accent chair in the living room and Domkapa certainly knows how to combine comfort and aesthetics. The Hubert armchair is truly one of a kind. Not sure if I love the round shape, or the contrast of leather and fabric, more. Either way, the result is breathtaking and practical. Especially when paired with a matching pouffe!

GILBERT SET OF TABLES

No collection would be complete without a beautiful set of tables of course. The Gilbert table set is available in three different sizes which can be used as a side table or coffee table. The minimalist design works particularly well with wood and leather finishes, don’t you think? I’m mesmerised by the mix of materials here! Domkapa truly knows how to create unique bespoke furniture. And I’m so happy that I am seeing a lot more dark wood, like teak and walnut, at the moment which I am hoping will continue well into 2025 and beyond. The Gilbert table set is available in various wood veneer finishes and I love how mixing different wood tones gives you that warm, layered look.

OLIVIA SOFA

Modular sofas aren’t exactly a new thing but we have seen an increase in demand in recent years. I think that has to do with people spending more time at home and having to have their furniture to work extra hard for them. Domkapa are expert in designing great-looking furniture that will last a long time. The curvaceous Olivia modular sofa is available in an astonishing six different modules with clean and tailored lines. The one you are seeing above consists of two modules with a comfortable convex back. There’s no denying this sofa is very easy on the eye and versatile just like every single piece in Domkapa’s 2024 collection. Thanks to its multiple modules, I’m sure Olivia will be a big hit, especially in commercial projects!

DINING CHAIRS

And finally, I have been swooning over these dining chairs and pouffes since they were released last year. It is easy to see why they have become firm favourites with Domkapa clients. From practical leather to luxurious boucle; there is something for everyone. And I love the earthy, warm tones this season. The brand-new Frank chair is such a timeless choice with its padded seat and high-quality wooden legs. But if I had to pick my absolute favourite it would be the Norah chair. I love a dining chair with arms, especially at the top of the table. The rounded back looks comfortable without making the chair appear big and bulky. The pop of colour gives the design that extra oomph making sure that it will certainly brighten up any room!

Let me know which one was your favourite in the comments below!
