There’s something quietly surprising about Windjammer Landing. Set on the northwest coast of St Lucia, this hillside resort feels unlike anywhere else in the Caribbean. That’s probably why I ended up booking it. The whitewashed villas and Mediterranean-inspired architecture (an aesthetic I’ve always loved) give it a distinctly Mediterranean feel, softened by Caribbean charm and an easy, laid-back atmosphere.
Here’s my design-led review of the resort.
Our 1-bedroom villa

Although this post is mainly about the beautiful Windjammer Landing interiors, a quick note for context, we booked an all-inclusive package through British Airways. It covered flights, accommodation, food, and drinks (with a small surcharge for some premium options), as well as access to watersports, which was a great bonus!
We chose a one-bedroom villa, something we had also done on a previous trip to Sardinia, and it is something I would highly recommend when travelling as a family. Having that extra space and privacy makes such a difference compared to a standard hotel room.
Our villa had recently been renovated (I requested this in advance, as the resort was undergoing a wider refurbishment), and I instantly fell in love with the interiors. The local design firm GLG Interiors has done an incredible job transforming the resort into a Mediterranean-inspired oasis of calm. Think soft coastal tones, layered textures, soothing blues and crisp white walls that create a relaxed, slightly bohemian feel. While the space felt fresh and stylish, I did find it a little minimal. Personally, I would have loved to see a bit more wall art or a few decorative touches to add character, but that’s just me being picky.
The kitchen was a great addition, especially for families, although we didn’t end up using it as we opted for all-inclusive during our stay.

The bathroom also felt newly renovated, with a clean, minimal design. Storage was somewhat limited, but it was still perfectly functional for a family of four. I especially loved the marble herringbone pattern on the walls and the rain shower was fab too.

And finally, the balcony was without a doubt my favourite part. We spent every evening there, watching golden hour roll in while listening to the gentle sounds of the island. Pure bliss!

Coastal Calm Meets Caribbean Charm
The cool coastal vibe in the lobby set the tone beautifully, creating an instantly relaxed atmosphere. Crisp white walls, paired with rattan accents and soft, luxurious fabrics, really elevated the space. Although the overall interior scheme was kept simple, the use of interesting table shapes and natural materials (along with statement chandeliers) added interest and gave it a refined coastal-luxe feel.
The furniture worked beautifully with the minimalist, clean lines of the space, enhancing the overall sense of calm. Bright, colourful flowers provided a gentle contrast, adding a fresh pop against the otherwise neutral palette.

The Details That Stood Out
You know I love a coffee table book, and they were literally everywhere. The hotel is part of The Leading Hotels of the World group, and it was lovely browsing their catalogue, where I discovered I have actually stayed in quite a few already. I also loved the textures throughout, especially on the coffee tables. In fact, the texture of everything stood out. Nothing felt boring, and there was clear attention to interesting surfaces, materials, and shapes.

And I have to mention the colourful faux flower arrangements again. They looked incredibly realistic, and I think I would have been quite disappointed to come all this way and not have any pops of colour in the space. So thank you for that.

Would I Stay Again?
I very much enjoyed our stay, and if I were heading back to St Lucia, I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again, although I would be mindful to avoid peak holiday periods. Easter coincides with spring break, which brings a large number of American visitors. When we first arrived, the resort felt so much quieter and more relaxed. However, as we got closer to Easter, it became noticeably busier, which showed in longer queues and a slight dip in service levels. This is likely the case in many destinations during peak times, but if you’re seeking that true Caribbean sense of calm, it’s worth planning your stay carefully. I’d also recommend hiring a driver for a few days to explore the island more easily.
I absolutely loved our excursions, especially the infamous mud bath and horse riding along the beach with Sandy Hoofs St Lucia, which I would highly recommend.
But what I loved most about St Lucia was not just the gorgeous interiors at Windjammer Landing, but the fact that there is so much more to do than on a typical beach holiday. There are plenty of activities for those who want to be more active, but it’s just as perfect if you prefer to keep your feet in the sand and unwind completely.

An amazing holiday destination by all accounts
