* In partnership with Domkapa.
I’ve always loved discovering new interior design brands. My style has evolved a lot since moving to our house and I’m super picky when choosing furniture and accessories. But now and then you come across a brand that you just know is a match made in (interior) heaven. I’m so excited to tell you that I will be working with Domkapa, a Portuguese-based furniture maker and upholstery specialist, in the coming months. I have been blown away by their minimalist designs and quality craftsmanship and I just know you’ll love them too.
Domkapa was initially founded in 2009 as a private label, but its long and fruitful path led to its independence in 2019. Today Domkapa is a specialised upholstery and furniture brand with a focus on high-quality design, comfort & materials. They have a luxurious selection of tables, chairs, sofas, armchairs, bar chairs, poufs, and more. What I love about Domkapa is that they work with local suppliers who use high-quality materials that last a long time. They even have their own production units, so you know where, how and who produces each unit. This also helps to ensure waste minimisation which is a big part of sustainable interior design.

I think it’s quite obvious why Shinto has made it to my top 5. I love that it’s a modular system that will take your creativity to another level. Modular sofas really are game-changer, which is why we have one in our lounge. They are versatile and adjustable. It is simply the best investment you could make. You can choose a combination you want with three different modular designs: chair, chair with chaise longue, and pouf. Shinto is available in several materials and finishes. And just when you think this design can’t get any better, on the back of each module you’ll find two black texturized steel bars sliding to the bottom of the sofa, featuring delicate gold stainless steel details. Amazing, right?

Isn’t the Eva chair just so dreamy? I absolutely love the drama that the two contrasting colours bring to this design. The casual rattan effect complements the dark wood flawlessly. If I was looking for new dining chairs, these would be it! And the best part is that it comes with a comfy upholstered seat, available in multiple colours (naturally). This design is available also in an armchair and bar stool, so you can make sure your design flows.

Every living room needs a coffee table, right? Or should I say at least some kind of table. The luxurious Panton coffee table is available as a practical coffee table and a space-saving side table. I adore this table in walnut which is perfect for both minimalist and traditional interior schemes. Like all Domkapa pieces, Panton is available in multiple different finishes, metals, and wood veneers. And thanks to the sturdy design this table is also suited for both residential and commercial design projects.

Finding the perfect bed can be a daunting task (I would know). It’s not just about aesthetics and comfort. You need to think about size, height, and functionality. Thanks to its unique design, the Amanda bed fits the bill perfectly. It has been designed to perfection with a wide upholstered headboard (with the famous double stitching) and integrated wooden bedside tables. This is the type of bed you will find in a luxury boutique hotel room. Of course, this design is available in various materials and sizes to suit your design needs. Amanda bed is the perfect example of integrating comfort into a striking contemporary and timeless design.

I love this chair! The Pearl armchair looks so stylish and will immediately add texture and luxury to any space. The curved silhouette with a deep convex and added cushion will give you all the comfort you’ll need. Try adding a matching footstool for extra comfort. This chair is also available with an optional swivel base (which I would always opt for). The pearl armchair is a great addition to any living room or entertaining area. You could even place this chair in the hall or landing for that boutique hotel feel. I always try to buy furniture that can be rotated in a different room. This ensures that your design piece gets multiple uses and turns out to be a good investment in the long run. Thanks to its timeless style, you can guarantee the Pearl armchair will stand the test of time.

I can’t wait to see and test the products in the flesh in Decorex in two weeks’ time. If you’re in London between October 9th and 12th go and check out their stand F155 at Olympia London.
These are all beautiful pieces and very stylish, but I think I like the Panton coffee table and that Pearl armchair the most. xV
