NEW HOUSE WISH LIST WITH FAVI.CO.UK

* Sponsored post by FAVI.

Although moving to our new house has been exciting, it’s been a lot of work too. I’ve found that we need larger furniture as the rooms are  bigger. The layout differs too which means that we’ll have to give up some of our old furniture. I quite like having a fresh start though. Our new house is an older character property which means that my decorating style will have to evolve with it. This is of course quite a nice dilemma to have. I love searching for new products online and creating moodboards on Pinterest.

Product sourcing can seem like a daunting task though. Where do you start? Should you focus on each room at a time? Finding the perfect statement pieces doesn’t happen overnight, does it? I think being organised is the key. Don’t try to do it all at once. Focus on what items/rooms need doing first. I do pretty much all my shopping online these days. It’s so  much more convenient and I have more options than in store.

Thanks to FAVI shopping online is more comfortable than ever. You can shop thousands of brands in one marketplace without leaving the house. If you’ve just moved to a new home like me, you’ll find the shop by room feature super helpful. You can also narrow down your search criteria by using the filters. I usually search for products based on colour or material, or simply type in a keyword.

Here are my favourite picks from Favi…

  1. This Rattan Dresser is pure perfection, isn’t it? I’m a huge fan of natural materials and this 50s inspired dresser would look at home in our colourful dining room. I love the light colour which works nicely with minimalist and Scandinavian interior schemes. Since I like to keep walls (mostly) wallpaper free, I need to add texture and warmth in other ways. Rattan furniture does the job perfectly and I really think it will never go out of date.
  2. If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know that I’ve been looking for the perfect coffee table for a while now. I’d love a glass tabletop as our girls are a little bit older now. I’ve been admiring Noguchi style coffee tables for ages. The curved wood base looks so unique and interesting. I feel like they can totally transform a room on their own. I love the midcentury design and this table could also work nicely as a side table (depending on the size and layout of your room of course).
  3. Favi also have a stunning selection of wooden lighting pendants. Wood is one of my favourite decorative materials right now. We have so many different shades of wood in the new house that I’ve lost count. The Toba four light ceiling pendant in mango wood would look amazing in our hallway next to the dark wooden beams. I wouldn’t worry about trying to match different shades of wood too much as long as they have similar undertones.
  4. Round mirrors are an interior trend that just won’t go away. I’m actually pretty ok with that. I love using them as accents in rooms and usually tend to go for different types of finishes to make sure they aren’t too bland. I always like to go as big as possible too. There’s nothing worse than a mirror that is too small. Don’t forget that mirrors are reflective and can help enlarge a room.
  5. I’m loving neutral colour schemes at the moment. Maybe it’s to do with all the rustic original features in this house. I find that brighter colours tend to compete with all the period features, whereas neutral colours have a more calming effect. I’d love this large natural rug in our lounge.
  6. Flowers are just amazing, aren’t they? That’s why I have quite a big collection of vases already. I’d love a real simple ceramic vase that will also work as a decoration on its own. There are so many different shapes and sizes available now that it’s hard to pick your favourite.
