REVIEW: BRIIV PLANT BASED AIR FILTER

* In partnership with Briiv.

Clean air is precious. Whether you’re inside or outside air quality has proven to have a big impact on our mental and physical well-being. As an allergy sufferer, I am well aware of that. My skin and body regularly react to pollutants without me even realising it. I love fresh flowers and scented candles but the emissions they produce can sometimes be very unhealthy. I love the concept of air filters in theory.  I’ve just never found one that would look nice, well not until now. I was thrilled to help Briiv fundraise back in 2020 and even back then I fully believed that the product would be a huge hit. I was so excited to write a blogpost about such an innovative and sustainable product. It wasn’t available to buy at the time but I knew it would be worth the wait. Well, I am thrilled to say that the Briiv air filter is here now available to buy and I had a chance to get my very own Briiv too and test it for a few weeks before writing this review.

I had high hopes for the design and functionality and Briiv did not let me down. It’s seriously stunning. And easy to use (manually or via an app). I love that my Briiv blends in perfectly with the decor, although she does get moved around a lot. I wish Briiv would launch this model in a few other colours in the future as well. Good excuse to have one for each room, right?

But don’t let the good looks fool you. Briiv is so much more than just a pretty air filter. Briiv also happens to be the most sustainable air filter out there. It is 96% plastic-free and uses natural micro-structures of moss, coconut, carbon, and a silk matrix to clean the air. It also gets rid of harmful fine particles, harmful gases, pollen allergens, and bacteria/mould spores. And thanks to the four-stage filtration system the whole process is completely natural.

I find that Briiv is very easy to use and set up. You can either download the app or control it manually. I like to do a bit of both. I also find their 1-hour cycle program the most efficient for our open-plan dining room. You’ll hear slight humming sounds while it’s doing its magic and will notice a difference in the air quality. After the 1-hour cycle, the air in our dining room seems fresher and cleaner. I could smell the difference which I wasn’t expecting.

So clearly Briiv works, is easy to use, and looks nothing like a regular air filter you’ve seen before.  If you haven’t been blessed with a green thumb, you’ll be pleased to hear that Briiv is as powerful as 3043 medium size houseplants. But what I think makes Briiv even better is its mission – the mission to reduce plastic by biodegradable filters. Most standard air filters cannot be recycled and the filter needs replacing every 6 months. Can you imagine the environmental impact that has on the planet and its resources? I do think sustainability should be at the heart of everything we do now and it’s our responsibility to make smarter and environmentally-friendly decisions.

Briiv isn’t the cheapest air purifier but you get what you pay for. It’s well-built, stylish, lasts a long time, and is super easy to use. The filters last up to 12 months and cost £34.99 for a one-year filter set which is a pretty great value.

I’m so pleased I got to finally test Briiv and honestly, it exceeded all my expectations. Looks, performance, user-friendliness, and eco-friendliness are the main reasons why I’d recommend Briiv. Think of it as a long-term investment. Not just for your health but for the planet too.
